Milly – After

Who are you? Where do you live? What are you doing with your life?

I’m Milly… I live in une petite village pres de Leamington. I’m currently training as a bank nurse and about to embark on a trip to Romania helping to run bible camps out there… Then it’s time to face reality of studying once more… (So far nutrition and sport and exercise science but that may change!)

How did you enjoy SA? What was the worst bit? What was the best bit?

Loved it, I found there was a blip at about 2 months where I wanted to go home… But maybe that’s just me, I found having limited freedom to roam and people to talk to quite difficult.

What have you gained and lost from being in South Africa?

I gained a wider knowledge of “stuff” and a whole load of friends. I also learnt how to do a “step-over” in football and gained a greater appreciation of this sumptuous sport. I lost…6 months of being boring and having an adult job with all those crazy responsibilities… So not a great deal in other words. It was absolutely worth the price and the effort!

What are you looking forward to most of all in the future?

I’m quite looking forward to studying stuff I’ve always wondered about… But qualifying (Lord willing) is pretty up there too.  Ummm… there’s loads of more exciting stuff that I’m looking forward to but yeah…

What can people pray for you in the coming year?

I’d really appreaciate prayer for making the transition from lazy A-level student/gap yearer/uni student, I really think I could find the work load tough and confusing, I like things spelled out plainly but I don’t think uni stuff will be that clear? Alllllso, staying true to my faith in testing circumstances at uni, I’m aware that I’ll probably be on my own with it a lot more at uni than I’ve really ever been before so yeah, ca moi!
